Resources for IBC Applicants

To assist researchers and IBC applicants and promote uniformity in safety procedures, the following documents have been developed. These are provided for download; researchers are encouraged to use these resources as they are or to modify them to suit the purposes and needs of individual research programs.

SciShield Registration Resources

OSU is currently transitioning to the SciShield Biosafety module for all IBC registrations.

  • Soft Rollout (October–December 2025): Researchers may use either the existing Word document forms or begin registering projects and amendments through SciShield.
  • Full Implementation (January 2026): All IBC protocols and amendments must be submitted through SciShield. Word document forms will be phased out.
