Operator training for Research X-ray Machines

(e.g. diffraction and fluorescence, and non-medical radiography e.g. Faxitron, uCT)

Follow these instructions to complete the training

  1. Take the OSU Radiation Safety Training for Research X-ray Machine + quiz:
  2. Complete Machine Specific Training. This training is provided by the machine administrator.

    Online form for recording Machine-Specific Training  (to be completed by the authorized trainer)

    Topics to be covered in the machine-specific training:

    • Proper operating procedures
    • Location and significance of the various radiation warning and safety devices
    • Precautions necessary to prevent exposure
    • How to complete x-ray machine usage log
    • Operator training requirements
    • Reporting of suspected faulty equipment and reporting improper use of the x-ray system:
