Oregon State University Chemical Hygiene Plan
Oregon State University (OSU) Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) serves as a formal written program for protecting laboratory personnel against adverse health and safety hazards associated with exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals used in OSU laboratories. Specifically, it satisfies the requirements of OSHA standards 29 CFR 1910.1450, Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories.
The CHP applies to all research or teaching laboratories that use, store, or handle potentially hazardous chemicals and all personnel who work in these facilities. All personnel engaged in laboratory use of hazardous chemicals must know the location and availability of the CHP. The CHP is reviewed annually and updated as needed.
Contact the Lab Safety Officer with questions or comments regarding the CHP or any lab safety issues.
