Radiation Safety, under the direction of the Radiation Safety Committee, assists the Oregon State University community with the safe use of radioactive materials and sources, x-ray generating equipment and lasers. The use of these materials and devices on campus is regulated by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), and OSU safety policies. OSU’s Radiation Safety Officer, Dan Harlan, can answer questions you may have regarding the use of radiation on campus.
