Confined Space Entry Overview
When workers enter a confined space to perform inspection, repair, maintenance, or construction work, they can encounter several unique hazards, including fumes from toxic gasses, corrosive chemicals, and flammable solvents, to machinery that starts unexpectedly. The Confined Space Entry Program contains requirements for practices and procedures to protect employees from the hazards of entry into a confined space. The written program adheres to the requirements set by the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OR-OSHA).
